This lavender field was up the road from our house in Les Gardiols. I liked getting up at sunrise to photograph the first rays igniting the neat rows of vineyards and lavender fields in full bloom. The air in Provence is so dry that surprisingly, the scent is not perceptible unless one brushes against the plants. The red hill in the background is the site of the village of Rousillon. |
