Florida Alligator Painting

I was driving slow on a back road in Big Cypress Preserve when I saw this four-foot gator lurking under a culvert. The moss on the bottom of the waterway shone red and gold in the shadows as the light played across the reflection of the sky. The shadows seemed to augment the size of the gator in a scene made for an impressionist painting. I snapped a photo to create the painting in my studio later.
