Pastel Painting

This little painting was done from a photo I took while driving through Big Sur. Herb and I were spending our vacation in California, and decided to drive up the Coastal Highway to Carmel, a place we'd not visited before. It was the height of summer and wild flowers were thick on the hillsides. The coastal fog and effects of sunlight through the clouds were fascinating. I wish we could have stayed there much longer.
