Riverbend Park in Early Spring

It was the first really warm spring day, although a little windy, and I joined a group of painters from MAPAPA for this paint out. Riverbend Park is just above the Great Falls of the Potomac River. It's hard to believe this placid stretch of water goes on to tumble down at the gorge with such a roar. This one fallen giant tree and its precariously balanced companion, soon to share the same fate, seemed the perfect focus for the new spring foliage.
