| We artistes had spent the afternoon in the city of Aix-en Provence, making a pilgrimage to Cezanne's last studio, and wanted to see Cezanne's fabled mountain before turning back. We knew it lay somewhere to the east of the city, so off we drove in search of it. Lacking precise directions, we got lost along the way, and chanced upon this charming lane while turning the van around. Poppies and other wild flowers lined the lane... from this side Mont Saint Victoire looks oddly triangular. |
