| The village of Joucas, the closest to our hamlet, was a wonderful place to explore on foot. Its narrow stone-paved streets unfolded countless views, each more picturesque than the one before. At the top of the hill, a stone wall gave way to a dizzying drop framing the rooftops and vineyards in the valley. As I worked on this painting a charming Parisian couple photographed me and stopped to chat—they later sent the photo via E-mail. |
