| This dramatic view shows the aftermath of the Hourglass Fire, which burned hundreds of acres and half of the buildings at the Pingree Park campus eight years before. The lodgepole pines spring from seeds that germinate only after exposure to the heat from the fire. The storm clouds gathering and dropping their load on the distant mountains, while bright sun illuminates other areas, add to the drama of the scene. |
