| This painting was commissioned by Dr. Jose Noy of Miami, who wanted an image to remind him of the city of his birth. The figure of an old street musician was among photographs of a friend who visited Havana in the late 90's. I found the old man's expression as he played his home-made instruments for coins very moving; I placed him in front of a beautiful colonial door from a different photograph. |
